Primordial spectral indices from generalized Einstein theories.

چکیده
Primordial spectral indices are calculated to second order in slow-roll parameters for three closely-related models of inflation, all of which contain a scalar field non-minimally coupled to the Ricci curvature scalar. In most cases, ns may be written as a function of the nonminimal curvature coupling strength ξ alone, with ns(ξ) ≤ 1, although the constraints on ξ differ greatly between ‘new inflation’ and ‘chaotic inflation’ initial conditions. Under ‘new inflation’ initial conditions, there are discrepancies between the values of ns as calculated in the Einstein frame and the Jordan frame. The sources for these discrepancies are addressed, and shown to have negligible effects on the numerical predictions for ns. No such discrepancies affect the calculations under ‘chaotic inflation’ initial conditions. PACS numbers: 98.80C, 04.50

Extended Slow-Roll Conditions and Primordial Fluctuations: Multiple Scalar Fields and Generalized Gravity
As an extension of our previous study, we derive slow-roll conditions for multiple scalar fields which are non-minimally coupled with gravity and for generalized gravity theories of the form f(φ,R). We provide simple formulae of the spectral indices of scalar/tensor perturbations in terms of the slow-roll parameters. Extended Slow-Roll Conditions and Primordial Fluctuations: Multiple Scalar Fie...
متن کاملFrame-Independent Calculation of Spectral Indices from Inflation
Spectral indices from models of inflation which incorporate a Generalized Einstein Theory (GET) gravity sector are calculated to first order in a slow-roll expansion. By quantizing a suitably-generalized measure of the intrinsic curvature perturbation, the spectral indices as calculated in the Jordan frame now match those as calculated following a conformal transformation, in the Einstein frame...
متن کاملGauge-invariant Cosmological Perturbations in Generalized Einstein Theories
Using the covariant approach and conformal transformations, we present a gauge-invariant formalism for cosmological perturbations in generalized Einstein theories (GETs), including the Brans-Dicke theory, theories with a non-minimally coupled scalar field and certain curvature-squared theories. We find an enhancement in the growth rate of density perturbations in the Brans-Dicke theory, and dis...

In the paper we consider some consequences of the Nonsymmetric Kaluza–Klein (Jordan–Thiry) Theory. We calculate primordial fluctuation spectrum functions, spectral indices, and first derivatives of spectral indices. In this paper we develop some ideas from Ref. [1]. We will refer to Ref. [1] in all the details of our considerations. Let us consider Eq. (3.313) from Ref. [1]. Φ(t) = (5 + 3a) √ 5...
متن کاملObservational Consequences of Evolution of Primordial Fluctuations in Scalar-Tensor Cosmology
Evolution of primordial fluctuations in a Brans-Dicke type scalar-tensor gravity theory is comprehensively investigated. The harmonic attractor model, in which the scalar field has its harmonic effective potential in the Einstein conformal frame and the theory relaxes toward Einstein gravity with time, is considered. The evolution of adiabatic initial perturbations in flat SCDM models is examin...
